The series (now at slightly over 100 pieces) is called Whispers. The words appear in the interstices between conscious and unconsciousness, between waking and sleep, from dreams, moments of inattention, and . . . who knows when. I originally wanted to call it Schizophrenia, but, fortunately, the voices are not telling me what to do and I realize they are not "real" (at least within the borders of the conscious world). It was a choice: seek professional help or make art of it. The visual part is sort-of the same: I scan through about 10,000 images until one pops up and "asks" to be moved into the collage. After that it is a lot of listening to the resulting image and tweaking.
