American Saddlebred Museum, Lexington, KY

This museum is in the center of a vast green field devoted to horses and horse racing, the Kentucky Horse Park. The Saddlebred is America’s only “native” horse breed. Almost lost among the many displays is the contribution of Black horse trainers. Lots of trophies, photographs, tack and a goodly number of paintings. The large library includes a section on horse genealogy. For the purist, they have a display of horse-oriented Christmas tree decorations.
